Last Paddler 2022: Priority Pixels is Backing Brendon Prince This December
If you’ve been keeping track of everyone’s favourite Devonian madman, you’ve probably already heard about Brendon Prince’s latest adventure. If you haven’t… well, you’re in for a treat. The water safety ambassador and Torquay local is about to embark on perhaps his most ambitious challenge yet – to be the last person still going in the Last Paddler 2022.
So, what is the Last Paddler 2022?
What is the Last Paddler?
Taking place on December 3rd in Sarasota, Florida, the Last Paddler is a gruelling endurance race where competitors quite literally paddle till they drop. The length of the competition depends on how long it takes for its participants to crack (yes, really). Brendon “Princey” Prince and his fellow competitors will paddle a 3.33-mile loop course, only finishing until there is only one paddler left standing – hence the name, the Last Paddler.
The race is timed with each loop starting every hour, on the hour. Participants must be back at the start of the loop within 10 seconds of the top of the hour or face elimination from the race. They must also complete the loop within an hour and be ready to go at the top of the next hour – and if the race reaches the 48-hour mark, the length of the loop will be increased. If it comes down to two final paddlers, the race will continue until one of those competitors quits. At this point, the last paddler left standing must finish one final solo loop in order to claim the title of Last Paddler Standing.
Backing Brendon at Priority Pixels
The Last Paddler is all about mental fortitude, stamina and strategy. Although the race itself sounds totally crazy, Brendon Prince is unabated in his ultimate goal – to continue raising awareness of water safety both here in the UK and abroad. That’s why when it comes down to dedication and strength, the team at Priority Pixels are backing Brendon this December. After all, you can’t really deny the man’s got commitment to his cause when he quite literally circumnavigated mainland Britain on a stand-up paddleboard last year.
