Server Monitoring

Every server hosting a client website is tracked continuously for uptime, response time, resource usage and configuration drift. If a server slows down, runs low on disk space or stops responding, our development team gets an email alert within minutes.

Each site has its status tracked alongside its server so we can see at a glance which platform version is running, how up to date the software is, how many IPs have been blocked recently and when the site was last connected to successfully. Alert patterns feed decisions about when a server needs upgrading, when configuration needs tuning and when a client should be moved to a bigger environment.

SSL Certificate Tracking

Every SSL certificate on every hosted client website and subdomain is watched for expiry. Certificates approaching expiry trigger renewal ahead of the deadline, and if any certificate fails to renew for any reason our development team gets a proactive alert with time to fix before anyone sees a broken padlock or a browser security warning.

The tracker distinguishes free auto-renewing certificates from paid certificates that need active management, with everything sorted by closest expiry first and anything inside thirty days flagged. Every issuer is covered, so a Sectigo or GoDaddy certificate is caught the same way as a Let’s Encrypt one, and any certificate that stops auto-renewing gets moved to the paid chase list on demand.

Cache Health

Server-level caching is deployed on client websites where it delivers a performance benefit. Our platform tracks that it stays active, correctly configured and actually delivering the performance benefit it should. Configuration drift, unusual cache-clear patterns and sudden slowdowns after a plugin update are all flagged for the team to look at.

Cache-related monitoring covers whether caching is active, whether it is actually being served for the pages that should be cached, and whether recent changes have quietly broken the setup. Where a cache misconfiguration is masking a slower underlying problem, we surface both so the fix addresses the cause rather than the symptom.

Infrastructure Alerts

Firewall blocks, pending security updates, unusual traffic patterns and critical service restarts all flow into a dedicated alerts dashboard. Anything needing a human response triggers a proactive email round the clock, tagged with the affected server, the affected sites and the severity, so whoever picks it up is not starting from a cold page working out where to look.

Repeat alerts are grouped so a flapping service does not drown the team in noise, and alerts that resolve themselves before the developer engages are closed cleanly. Alert history is retained for pattern analysis and for the incident record that lives in the client’s file.

From Alert to Resolution

Every proactive email from the dashboards above lands in our helpdesk as a ticket, triaged for severity and assigned to a developer. Urgent incidents (a website offline, compromised or with data at risk) receive a response within two hours during working hours, worked until resolved. High severity issues are worked within a two working day resolution target, medium severity within five.

Anything a developer cannot resolve inside their own scope escalates to a senior developer. Clients hear from us directly on anything that affects their website, their data or their users. For urgent incidents a post-incident review captures the root cause and any action needed to prevent recurrence.
