Client overview
IBIA, the International Bunker Industry Association, describes itself as the voice of the global marine fuel value chain. Its members work across the whole of the marine fuel supply chain. IBIA has held NGO consultative status with the International Maritime Organization (IMO) since 2005, which gives it a direct voice in shaping global maritime regulation. Alongside that work it runs its own events and training programme and publishes World Bunkering magazine.
IBIA asked Priority Pixels to design and develop a new website that brings its IMO work, events, training and member content together in one place. The website also had to connect to Glue Up, the CRM IBIA uses to run its membership, so members could sign in with one login and manage their profile and membership from their own dashboard.

Website design and development
UX design
IBIA’s website serves two audiences: the wider industry following its work at the IMO and the members who rely on it for technical documents, events and training. Some content is open to everyone and some is kept for members, so the design had to handle both without getting in the way of either.
The IMO section holds a searchable library of technical documents, with a glossary, links to key resources and an IMO blog. Members only material can be locked behind a login. World Bunkering magazine has its own archive, with the same locking in place for member issues.
Events are split between IBIA’s own events and the industry events it supports, with filters for date, year, region and sponsor. Training has its own calendar with filters, so members can find the right course quickly.
Members have a dashboard where they can manage their profile and check their membership status, with notifications as their renewal date approaches.
Development
We built the website on our own WordPress theme, made entirely from native WordPress blocks. Everything from the homepage banner to the event cards and publication features is a custom block, so the IBIA team can edit pages in the standard WordPress editor without breaking the design.
The website connects to Glue Up with single sign on. Member records sync between the two systems and event registration is handled through Glue Up. An Industry Calendar under Events brings IBIA events, supported events, industry events and IMO meetings together in a monthly view, colour coded by type, pulling entries from Glue Up and Eventora alongside events added in WordPress.
Every page was built to meet WCAG 2.2 AA. Before launch we mapped redirects from the old URLs so search visibility and existing links carried across. The new ibia.net went live in November 2026 and our UK team now hosts and maintains it.
