A New Hat for a Grand Old Lady: Brand New Website Launched for the Watersmeet Hotel
Posted: 17th November 2021
Built in 1909, the Watersmeet isn’t just any old seaside mansion. She’s a sprawling Edwardian-era hotel overlooking the rugged, wild coastline of North Devon. Situated a stone’s throw from Combesgate Beach, the hotel offers panoramic views of the ocean from luxurious guest rooms.
Although she’s been renovated in recent years, the Watersmeet has retained a sense of historical elegance and grandeur over the years. Tastefully decorated with modern comforts, guests can still enjoy the historic elements of the original hotel. There’s an indoor pool, a spa, corporate function rooms and a casual bistro for informal dining. There’s also an award-winning restaurant where you can watch the sun go down as you dine on locally-sourced grub. Bliss (and bubbly of course).
Historical grandeur in North Devon
When the team from the Watersmeet first approached us, the website was a far cry from the grand aesthetics of the old lady herself. She was in desperate need of a digital makeover.
As always, the team at Priority Pixels got to work. We used a combination of different coding languages to build the website from the ground up, opting for an aesthetically modern design that was practical and easy to navigate. Much like the hotel herself, we needed to combine contemporary comforts with Edwardian splendour and elegance.
The team at Priority Pixels loved working with the Watersmeet. The new website is aesthetically beautiful and user-friendly, utilising modern digital elements while still retaining a sense of the Watermeet’s long, colourful history.
Our passion for this project is reflected in the finished job. You can read more about the work we did with the Watersmeet here.
