US-based global petrochemical giants, Nexant, came to Priority Pixels looking for help to build a comprehensive training website. Their London-based training team were struggling with the challenges of an 8-hour time difference and no direct access to update their own content.
As a leading global company, Nexant provides software, consulting, and services to worldwide utilities, energy and chemical companies, and Government bodies. A large part of their offering is to deliver public and in-house training courses around the world, providing a broad understanding of the petrochemical industry.
As part of Nexant, the London-based training team work closely with the main team in San Francisco where the main website is hosted and maintained. However, the 8-hour time difference meant any course updates fed from the London to San Francisco teams weren’t actioned until at least the next working day.
To answer the ongoing restrictions the London team were facing, Priority Pixels were asked to create a new dedicated training website with four main objectives:
By creating a subdomain of the main Nexant website, Priority Pixels were able to create a separate website within a website that the London-based team could fully manage themselves. The new training site was created using WordPress and included the latest SSL certificate for complete data security.
Designed to emulate the look and feel of the main site, it was crucial to maintain the Nexant corporate branding, colours and style to ensure a seamless user experience. The new site is also built to use the e-commerce capabilities of WooCommerce , taking online registration, bookings and payments for each of the online training modules.
Nexant are currently in the process of creating their online training course videos and we’ve created and prepared the site to include these. Once complete, they’ll have full Nexant corporate branding built-in. They’ll be uploaded to Vimeo, where each video is encoded and hosted off-site for security and faster load times. When a digital course is purchased online using the Stripe payment gateway, the user will get full access to the online training video.
The Priority Pixels team have been great to work with. They took our original ideas, gave us great advice and guidance and developed a website we are very happy with.Chris Parmenter, Nexant
