Founded in 2007 by members of the original Microsoft BizTalk development team, Affinus recently celebrated a decade of supporting Microsoft customers. Today, Affinus continue to work closely with Microsoft, sharing their expertise with customers with both on-site and cloud-based training. To reflect their growth in the industry, Affinus wanted to revamp and redesign their current website.
As an existing client of Priority Pixels, Affinus wanted to take their site to the next level with an extensive new design. While this would reflect their recent growth as a company, it would also highlight its development and increased reputation in the tech industry.
To bring the Affinus site bang up to date, Priority Pixels were brought in to deliver the key objectives of:
- Website design
Creating a site design with easy navigation for a user-friendly experience, that complements their current branding, and reflected their style and place in the industry.
- Web development
Combining existing blog and tech blogs into a new Insights section and adding a new resources section to help drive traffic and increase engagement.
- Content management
A content management system so the Affinus team can access, amend, and add new content themselves, quickly and easily.
As the existing Affinus site had been built by us using WordPress, we started out by adding the new pages for the new Insights section and training resources section. By restructuring the sitemap to include these pages, it helps the site stay organised and makes the site easier to navigate. More importantly, it gives Affinus a boost in on-site SEO, increasing their visibility in search results.
Following the Affinus brand guidelines, our Graphic Design team had full control in creating a slick and eye-catching site that elevated the company’s online presence. By adding custom-designed header images, page graphics, and a bold, contrasting colour palette throughout, we produced an energetic theme that better reflected who Affinus really are.
Once the designs were agreed upon, our in-house web developers started the build using HTML5, CSS3 and PHP. This included the content management system, together with a range of core plug-ins to help with site speed and efficiency.
A major part of the process was combining both the Tech Blog and the Blog into an Insights section. As industry leaders, Affinus shares a lot of knowledge in their content and the tech blog drives high traffic to the site. Developing this section, together with adding the resources section, will help to improve their site traffic further and increase their SEO ranking.
