In light of recent events regarding the cyber attacks across Europe including the NHS and even our very own MPs, we thought we would tell you what we can do to keep you and your businesses protected. So here is how Priority Pixels can help keep your business safe from Cyber Attacks and Hackers?
Some of you will hold very valuable data such as names, emails, passwords, contact info, bank details and much more. Last week the news was full of experts warning about some of the simple things we can do to protect ourselves and our businesses. Changing your passwords regularly or having double verification processes were some of the options that were spoken about. But one was to ensure you keep your website up to date and secure.
There are two ways in which we can help you do just that.
Firstly, we can install an SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) Certificate on your website. SSL Certificates are small data files that digitally bind a cryptographic key to an organisation’s details. When installed on a web server, it activates the padlock and the https protocol and allows secure connections from a web server to a browser. Typically, SSL is used to secure credit card transactions, data transfer and logins. So if you have an eCommerce website it really is a must. More recently SSL Certificates are becoming the norm on all other websites. The reason for this is that most websites still collect data such as names, email addresses and phone numbers when people enquire about the products or services you offer on your website. This is still data that can be used by others and should be protected.
Secondly, we can support and maintain your website with website updates and security updates. When your website is built and live you should keep your website, plug ins and security software up to date. Your website is forever evolving in the background during its lifetime. Therefore just like your home PC it requires updating on a regular basis. Every month you should be running these updates to ensure your website not only functions correctly but is less susceptible to hacks. You should also have security software installed and you should also keep this regularly updated, for the same reasons you have security software on your laptop or PC at home. Remember this is your business and provides you with an income. If it gets hacked then a loss to that income is inevitable and that’s not including any data breaches you might have unknowingly committed should your customers data be stolen.
If you know how to do all of this then fantastic, we would actively encourage you to do so. However if you would like assistance we can help.
For just £25 per month including VAT we can install an SSL Certificate and Security Software that will be kept up to date every month. We will also run updates on your website and your plug ins every month. That way you can rest assured you are doing all you can to keep you, your website and your customers details safe.
